Sig 522 rifle owners, can upgrade their rifle with the Samson STAR-522 handguard without making permanent modifications to your rifle. The STAR-522 is CNC machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, then hard coat anodized for a long lasting, rust free handguard. It has four 1913 Mil-Spec rails so you can add any type of accessory you want. Venting holes have been machined between the rails to help keep it lightweight and to vent heat from the system while firing. The top rail is 19 inches long and forms a continuous line of sight for attaching optics. It weighs only 17.7 ounces and is easy to install yourself with no permanent modifications being made to your rifle.

GEMTECH's New G5-22 Suppressor for the Sig Sauer 522

GEMTECH has released a NEW suppressor specifically for the Sig Sauer 522. It is called the G5-22, and is a complete redesign from their previous Outback II suppressor. The new G5-22 is designed for those shooters that want a full size suppressor look for their rifle, vs the smaller (yet still very effective) Outback II.

We have no confirmation that they are going to offer a non-functioning inert model like they do with the Outback, but it appears that a few people have recieved a non-functioning version of it.


Of course, GEMTECH still offers their fantastic Outback II suppressor for the Sig Sauer 522. The suppressor comes in two versions from GEMTECH.

Version 1 is a Inert, Non-Functioning Suppressor that is great for display purposes, without requiring the $200 BATFE tax stamp. The suppressor is a solid piece of metal, with a smooth oversized bore. There are no baffles in the suppressor, nor can it be modified to include baffles. The non-functioning version is available with the 1/2-28 threads compatible with the Sig Sauer 522. Check your state laws for compliance.

Version 2 is a fully functional suppressor. It requires the $200 BATFE tax stamp, and is not available where the law prohibits it. It too, is threaded for 1/2-28 threads compatible with the Sig Sauer, and many other .22 rifles and pistols.
